I just noticed that everything you add the word “kitty” to, sounds extra naughty. It’s not that kind of blog people. I really wasn’t on some sexual shit when I was given that nickname. Anyway, later for that story. So you know I’ve been terribly distracted for the last month and wasn’t really paying attention to my blog or the blogsphere the way I wanted. So, I’m trying to get back on a regular schedule. I recently became aware of a couple of great compliments I was paid in the form of recognition by a couple of my blogging peers (Ty@ BlackCynic and my girl @Naturally Nappy), so I decided to return the favor.

So here we go in no particular order.

The BlackCynic.com quickly became one of my very favorite sites from my very first visit. Trust me, I’m not listing him because he listed me. Check him out and he’ll become a fast favorite of yours too. There is never a time when I don’t damn near injure myself laughing hysterically at one of his jests. But at the same time,his smooth story telling doesn’t mask his message. Witty and intelligent, Ty delivers commentary on everything from television to history with refreshing perspective and impeccable comedic timing, it’s a weekly must for me.

Black Girl in the City. Honest self analysis and a taste for the fresh and fabulous, Black girl shows that the only limits are that of your own design. She exposes herself and her life in a way that is so relative and at the same time weaved into a perfectly crafted story. Holding you from beginning to end. You’ll find yourself recounting similar experiences or asking yourself what you would do in her shoes without even realizing it.

Naturally Nappy is another regular stop for me. Young, yes. Naive…maybe. I love it when people draw their blinds and let you watch…b/c I’m naughty….anyway, each entry is just real talk. From her everyday life including boyfriend drama and her job, to “Some friendly advice for your ass” this chick is opening her windows and turning on the lights…and if your nice, you might get a little bra strap to boot. Never short on attitude or candor…I like.

Goddess Glory All hail…seriously this chick is on some other. And therefore I’m with it. Truly her own damn person, smart, sexy and edgy, this is a sista I can f**k with. Now, I don’t agree with everything she’s on, but when do I ever? She 100% original, a black woman who loves herself and is experiencing life in her own fashion. Stop by and sip on a little bit of her cosmic, racial, sexual or furry philosophies. Yes, I said furry, you’ll see. Side note: NSFW, if your offended by graphic conversation or sexual imagery keep it moving…

Diary of a poor black Milwaukee screw up is dope. Plain and simple. Reflective interpretations of the place of the black man in society give way to hilarious conjecture on big booties and an honest view of the world we live in. A light is shined on racial, political and societal happenings, as well as the everyday dealings of life in black communities. Funny as hell, blatantly ghetto, intelligent. Nuff said.

Raw Dawg Buffalo is a site where even the thickest among us are guaranteed to come way with some knowledge. Able to teach without preaching, *RD always gives you something to marinate on. His love for himself, his family and his people are ever present and endearing but he’s not expressing it for your applause. His posts are brimming with sincerity and a perspective obviously “rooted” in history. His down to earth blend of passion and intellectual dialogue will leave you with a full understanding of why he’s so popular.

Lateboots.com, get it in your life. I love fashion, but the boots take it to a whole different level. A team comprised of “individuals” who clearly have a love of all things fashion, beautiful people, and urban culture. It’s nice to get your fever from people who are as fabulous as the topics they cover. Check ‘em out and pick up a new muse or just a dose of inspiration. Enjoy a front row view of the young, the black and the chic on their journey to the top. And somebody shares my adoration of the queen Bey, so you know…
